The use of prana is integral to any part of our activities, because prana is a basic ingredient of life. The conscious use of prana has probably undergone considerable evolution and changes throughout human history. While we assume that our ancestors were either more knowledgeable about the use of prana or were using it intuitively more effectively, in more recent history the awareness of prana has been expanding, especially in western industrialized societies.

In the past, knowledge about prana and spirits was often dressed in ritual and ceremony and performed by specialists (shamans, druids, magicians, etc.). Also knowledge passed from generation to generation of farmer often contained practices that directly applied prana or life force to the fields. An example are the traditional songs of Bulgaria and South America and probably also in other parts of the world which each had a very specific purpose, i.e. songs specific for soil and seed preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting etc. Also many vedic practices, especially Agnihotra, have profound and very marked energetic effects on the land, crops, animals and farmers.

As more such practices come to our attention we will try to summarize them and record or link to records.
